I’m taking a rather quick liking to Napa. The fact that damn near everything closes after 9pm is hard pill to swallow after my 24 hr/day/365 life in Vegas. But hey, maybe it’ll help me become a normal person who doesn’t run off to the gym and then grocery shopping at 3am. Actually this is highly unlikely to end as I’ve already sought out the two places in Napa where I can achieve this. Old habits die hard, right? Anyways I’ve been meaning to cook more since moving into my new place. Try and find […]

Cyclops 75 Halloween Cocktail
“Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” Halloween is one of my favorite holidays specifically because I don’t have to be myself. It gets tiring being yourself day in and day out. Why be myself if I can be Batman? Okay, maybe I can’t be Batman, but until that day comes I welcome Halloween with open arms. Scary at its roots, I find it to be a silly sort of holiday. Clearly, I was in some sort of mood as I decided to dress in fashion of a Mad Scientist and go to town on […]
Sunday Surfin’ 10.25.15
Moments that make me realize I’m becoming a functioning adult really freak me out. This past weekend I drove out to Beverly Hills to be put up in a hotel and put through an intensive working interview. I find myself to be enthused about being able to get back to work especially in a restaurant environment I’d seem to enjoy. To believe I’d give up funemployment this easily though— shocking. It was also around this time when I realized Halloween is literally around the corner and I have no idea what I’ll be. This might […]
Original Singapore Sling
One of my biggest life goals is to travel through time. So far it’s not looking very promising as Marty McFly has yet to appear on a hoverboard and it’s already 2015. Often when you travel you, you get lucky. I wasn’t sure what I expected to find in Singapore, I was setback when I realized I had stepped into the early 20th century. My sister and I wearing our casual and VERY 2000’s garb seemed out of place as we explored the refined Raffles Hotel. Singapore is a clean city. Remarkably clean. So walking into […]

“How do you keep a wave upon the sand?” In great restless fashion I found myself back in LA this week. My mom had won some tickets to see The Sound of Music which just opened down at The Ahmanson. As an unemployed vagabond, it was the best excuse I could find to get back to my hometown. My little sister, the theater production major, joined us for the evening studying the show with a critical eye. But what’s a night out at the playhouse without a proper pre-theater meal? I can sense what you’re […]
Sautéed Apples & French Toast
This is not a breakfast blog. Seriously, breakfast isn’t even my favorite meal. Usually when I’m asked what I’d like for breakfast I respond with something odd like a salad or Thai curry. In my world, breakfast is hardly the most important meal of the day. Often it’s skipped entirely and forgotten like remembering to buy dog food when you’re at the store. That being said, I’ve been on a bit of a breakfast streak. I mean two full breakfast meals in one week? That’s practically unheard of. (Aside from the solid few weeks of […]
