It’s the middle of the night in an incredibly quiet part of Bergamo, Italy and I’m locked out of my hostel. The roar of thunder has been taunting me and just as I’m accepting my fate, it begins to pour. I ring the doorbell several times in hopes of attracting anyone’s attention, but in this Italian suburb, no one can hear you scream.
I’ll expand how I ended up in this predicament in a later post. For now the wound is too fresh. Also, I’m not yet sure how it ends and I prefer to tell a complete story when I finally get around to telling one.

Considering I’ve been on the road for over two months and this is my first night without a place to sleep, I think I’m doing just fine. In my past few months, I’ve been to Singapore, Hong Kong, Israel, England, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Greece, and Italy. Phew. If you’re exhausted reading that list, you’d be right. I’m tired. If you’re invigorated reading that list, we could be friends.
Life Pro Tip!: put your email in the subscribe box in the bottom or right side of the screen.
After a good time on the road, I am becoming full of Life Pro Tips (LPT). I’m working to become recognized as a Professional in the art of Living. If you see another LPT it might be a good idea to take that advice. Or not. I’m not your mother. (P.S. Sorry Mom! Don’t worry. I made it through tonight fine! I think! Actually, it’s not over yet and I really have to pee… TMI?)
Alright, focus. Can I just say this is not at all what I expected my first post to be about. As you can tell from the name this blog is intended to focus on traveling, specifically eating while traveling. Eating is my top #1 hobby. I’m so completely dedicated to this hobby that I’ve done it every day, multiple times a day, my entire life. Kinda puts your knitting circle to shame, don’t it?

So, if you like traveling, or eating, or putting down actual productive hobbies, follow my first LPT and subscribe. Seriously, what are you waiting for? I promise to give food a nice big shoutout in my next post and steer this rambling nonsense in some sort of direction. To be fair, this blog is also about wandering…

Okay, wrapping up. It’s about 2am and there’s still surprisingly no signs of life around this hostel, the thunder has calmed but the rain hasn’t, and I have a pathetic water bottle set out to catch possibly 3 or 4 drops of rain. I think the time has come for me to set up camp and try to get some sleep before scaring a hostel owner far too early in the morning. Wish me luck.
Currently Eating: Salted Peanuts
Want to know more about a destination I’ve been? Let me know in the comments!
This post made me laugh, it is so very real and relatable for anyone who has travelled 🙂 can’t wait to follow along!
Thank you!! Can’t wait to see you back sometime.
Hello fellow foodie!
Hello!
Awesome! I traveled for 10 months straight out of a RV, parking in Walmarts. It’s an experience in LIVING for sure.
Wow! What an awesome experience! A cross country trip is definitely on my sooner rather than later todo list.
Sounds like a fun experience and reminds me of when I traveled Europe back in the 90’s! How were the salted peanuts?! Hello from Bakersbeans!
Haha you know, they actually gave me the choice of “crisps,” “biscuits,” or nuts. So I chose the biscuits to satisfy my sweet tooth!
The glamour of travel!
Good day! I simply want to give an enormous thumbs up for the great info you’ve here on this post. I will likely be coming again to your blog for more soon.
